Functional Skills Math & English Exam Entry

Excel Tutors provides private candidate examination entry for Functional Skills Mathematics and English as offered through the OCR examination board. These examinations are available to all students, including home-educated and mature students.
Functional Skills Maths and Englishare available forEntry Level 1, 2 and 3, and Level 1 and Level 2. We take both the paper-based and onscreen tests at our centre.Functional Skills exams are taken all year round and are sat every week on Wednesday and Thursday.

Functional Skills On Screen Exam

To sit the onscreen exam, you only have to book at least 3 days in advance and complete the application form. To sit the paper exam you must book at least a week in advance and complete the application form. Please note that the results for the onscreen exam are received in 7-10 working days whilst the results for the paper exam are received in 2-3 weeks.
Functional Skills is becoming more popular as gaining Functional Skills Maths or English qualifications enables the candidate to gain acceptance on to a college or university course or to assist them with career development and promotion.

You can visit us at our centre, along with your Passport/Driving license (for ID check) and one passport sized photograph.

We recommend candidates to come into the centre, so that in case of any enquiries, the exam officer can help you and complete your exam registration straightaway.

Where is your examination centre based?

We are based solely in Whitechapel /Aldgate (East London), although our students travel to us from across the UK.

How do I register for examinations?

There are two ways to ensure the registration for your place to take an exam at this centre. Either you can apply online and upload your documents to verify your identity or you can come in person at our centre with required documents and our exam office will help you to register.

What time do exams start?

All morning examinations start at 9.30 AM and afternoon examinations start at 1.00 PM.

How do I pay for my examinations?

You can pay for your examinations by debit / credit card, cheque, PayPal, cash (if registering in person) or bank transfer.

When will I receive my examination dates?

You will receive a Statement of Entry (that includes all your examination dates), as well as the exam letter in the months prior to your first examination. Usually, these documents are provided to candidates taking examinations in November by late-September, in January by late-November and in May/June by late-March.
